Bartfay Artur<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Arthur Allan B\u00e1rtfay was recipient of the Hungarian Association\u2019s \u00c1rp\u00e1d Alliance medal\u00a0for service to the Hungarian Community. He is a past president (1980s) of the Columbus,\u00a0Ohio Branch 129 of the William Penn Association. He was born on a farm near Flint,\u00a0Michigan to Hungarian parents who immigrated to America in 1912. He earned a BA &\u00a0MA from Michigan State University in East Lansing. He had a career in commercial &\u00a0public broadcasting, retiring –after 25 years–from the staff of The Ohio State University.\u00a0In 2005, he taught conversational English to teenagers in Temesv\u00e1r, Transylvania. In\u00a02010, he delivered a paper at the American Hungarian Educators Association at the U of\u00a0Szeged in Hungary, entitled \u201cThe Legacy Louis Kossuth’s 1851-52 American Visit: five\u00a0Kossuth villages (in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Mississippi), two Kossuth\u00a0townships (in Wisconsin & Maine), and one Kossuth County (in Iowa).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
