This year\u2019s Hungarian Congress will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Association in America. We\u00a0cherish our Hungarian heritage\u00a0and traditions while we are equally\u00a0proud to be Americans, Europeans, and citizens of the world community. Our Planning Committee,\u00a0including Etu Alapi, Dr. Ildik\u00f3\u00a0<\/strong>Kondra y, Panni Lud\u00e1n yi,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gabriella N\u00e1das, Ildik\u00f3 Peller, Dr.\u00a0<\/strong>M\u00e1rta Pereszl\u00e9nyi, L\u00e9l Somogyi,\u00a0<\/strong>and myself, has been hard at work
\nto organize a Hungarian Congress\u00a0which will appeal to Hungarians old\u00a0and young, traditional and modern\u00a0in thinking.<\/p>\n

Special Guest Speaker\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Our special guest, Major Gen<\/strong>eral Robert Iv\u00e1nyi,<\/strong> personally highlights the ongoing transition of Hungarians in America. His career has\u00a0taken him from being a renowned\u00a0football star on the Cleveland St. Ignatius H.S. 1965 city championship\u00a0team to being the Commandant of\u00a0the U.S. Army War College. He will\u00a0be our keynote Luncheon Speaker\u00a0<\/strong>on Saturday, November 30, addressing us on the timely topic of\u00a0the Global War on Terrorism.<\/p>\n

Our gala of Fine Art Galleries\u00a0will showcase exemplary works by
\nGy\u00f6rgy Kozmon, Kur Csaba,\u00a0Imre Bog\u00e1rdy, Andr\u00e1s and Magdi\u00a0Temesv\u00e1ri, and Gy\u00f6rgy B\u00faza. Our\u00a0Hungarian Association Bookstore will feature classical and\u00a0modern Hungarian literature.\u00a0We will have a special Style\u00a0Show and Exhibition of exquisite\u00a0Hungarian garments and finery. On\u00a0Saturday our culinary experts will\u00a0provide instruction on Hungarian\u00a0Cooking.<\/p>\n

As it is every year, the heart of\u00a0our program is the ongoing lecture\u00a0series taking place from Friday\u00a0through Sunday.<\/p>\n

Our second special\u00a0program will be on Hungarian\u00a0Women. Young Hungarians\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

There will be a Young Hungarians\u2019 Gathering for college age\u00a0youth on Friday night featuring an\u00a0inspirational address by Major\u00a0General Robert Iv\u00e1nyi and then\u00a0comradery, fellowship, and some\u00a0partying.<\/p>\n

Organizational Meetings <\/em><\/p>\n

Meetings will be held by the\u00a0Ancient Hungarian Historical Society, the Hungarian Engineering\u00a0Society, Hungarian Physician\u00a0Academy, the Hungarian Journalists, the Szent L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Rend\u00a0and Vit\u00e9zi Rend, the \u00c1rp\u00e1d
\nAcademy and others.\u00a0I hope to meet you there personally, at the presentations,\u00a0meetings, exhibitions, the Literary\u00a0and Performing Arts Program,\u00a0and the tradition-rich Hungarian\u00a0Ball on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
