In the spirit of the Dr. Emory Ladanyi Foundation, the Hungarian Association is proud to announce the Dr.\u00a0Emory Ladanyi Foundation Art Competition at the Congress of the Hungarian Association. All are invited to\u00a0enter who meet the requirements and guidelines below.<\/p>\n
1. Eligibility<\/strong><\/span>: The art competition is open to all participants who are of Hungarian or partial Hungarian origin between\u00a0the ages of 16 and 40.<\/p>\n 2. Fee and Limit<\/strong><\/span>: There is no entry fee. A person may enter up to three works of art, but may receive no more than one\u00a0award.<\/p>\n 3. Originality<\/strong><\/span>: The entry artwork must be an original piece, completed solely by the participant. Make sure that the\u00a0artwork is signed.<\/p>\n 4. Media<\/strong><\/span>: Entry may be sculpture, drawing, painting, print, collage, or other pictorial presentation. Sculptures must be\u00a0free standing or mounted on appropriate bases and be appropriate for placement within the display space. Paintings and\u00a0drawings must be properly presented and may be framed or the artist may choose to omit framing as part of the creative\u00a0process. Works that are deemed too large or cumbersome to hang or display may not be accepted. Please limit\u00a0paintings such that they do not exceed a size of 30\u201dx40\u201d and be not less than 16\u201dx20\u201d in size.<\/p>\n 5. Due Date<\/strong><\/span>: All applicants must digitally submit their CV, a photo of the art work to be displayed, as well as one of\u00a0themselves, and an artist\u2019s statement of their work and their inspiration for this work up until two weeks before the\u00a0competition, at magyar.tarsasag@gmail.com<\/p>\n 6. Date of Competition<\/strong><\/span> : The competition itself is on the Friday after Thanksgiving day. The participating artist must be\u00a0present at the exhibit that evening and the following evening, Saturday, at the formal Hungarian Ball, where the awards\u00a0are presented. Participants qualify for discounted ball tickets.<\/p>\n 7. Judging<\/strong><\/span>: A panel of judges will select the award winning entries, which will be eligible for cash prizes.<\/p>\n 8. Awards<\/strong><\/span>: $500., $300., $200. cash prizes for First, Second, and Third places, respectively. All who enter artwork will\u00a0receive certificates of participation.<\/p>\n 9. Agreement<\/strong><\/span>: Participants must agree to assume all responsibility for transporting and displaying their artwork. The\u00a0Hungarian Association will not be responsible for any loss or damage to art work displayed during the show.<\/p>\n 10.
