ABOUT THE ARTISTS \/ PERFORMERS:<\/p>\n

\"T\u00e1las<\/a>Ern\u0151 T\u00e1las<\/strong>, tenor, is a retired member of the Royal Swedish Opera Company. He has toured all over Europe during his decades long musical career, and has produced\u00a0numerous recordings as well. He was born in J\u00e1szlad\u00e1ny, Hungary, and graduated from\u00a0the Ferene Liszt Academy in Budapest. He left Hungary as a result of the 1956\u00a0Revolution. He was named an Honorary citizen of his hometown of J\u00e1szlad\u00e1ny, and he\u00a0has established a scholarship for students at his former high school, the J\u00e1szlad\u00e1nyi\u00a0Gimn\u00e1zium. Although he left his Hungarian homeland, he is quick to tell everyone that\u00a0his heart always remained in Hungary. He has been a frequent guest artist of the\u00a0Hungarian Congress\u2019Literary and Artistic program on numerous occasions in many past\u00a0years.<\/p>\n

\"M\u00e9cs<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00c9va M\u00e9cs<\/strong> \u00a0is an amazingly talented woman. Her story begins in Budapest, Hungary, where she was born and where\u00a0she grew up. \u00c9va holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Performing Arts and was involved in the theater, radio broadcasting,\u00a0and movies for 10 years. In 1984 she married and together with her husband, in 1985, they moved to the United\u00a0States, where \u00c9va became involved with other creative adventures.\u00a0She was drawn to the performing arts and to writing, from very early on. Her analytical personality,\u00a0curiosity, the force to find the answers to all the \u201cwhys,\u201d pushed her to discover everything connected to human\u00a0nature. She changed her homeland, hoping to find happiness in the New World. Her book, entitled The Porcelain\u00a0Figurine \u2013 A PORECEL\u00c1N BABA, was published in Budapest in 2007. Feeling compelled\u00a0to react to the currently changing social and political events in the USA, she had the\u00a0urge to interpret her story into English, thus making it possible to introduce it to those\u00a0USA-American, and perhaps to British, Canadian, and Australian readers as well, who\u00a0would like to read a page turner love story from a \u201cpast,\u201d but very revealing era.\u00a0At Friendship Village of South Hills (PA.), an assisted living community where \u00c9va\u00a0works, her colleagues are highly complementary not only of her numerous literary and\u00a0artistic talents, but also of her graciousness. They describe her as a breath of fresh air,\u00a0a delight to work with, always caring and empathetic with residents, and that it is an\u00a0honor to have Eva as a staff member.\u00a0The Hungarian Congress is also honored to have \u00c9va M\u00e9cs perform once again as a\u00a0guest artist this evening.<\/p>\n

\"K\u00e1llay<\/a>\u00c1gnes K\u00e1llay<\/strong> started playing the violoncello at the age of six. She graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, in 2006. She earned a DAAD scholarship and studied at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Cologne, Germany. She won the Alpen Adria International Violoncello Competition in Gorizia, Italy, and placed first at the Beethoven Chamber Music Competition, London, UK, in 2007. She is one of the founders of Excanto Ensemble. She is a member of Camerata Hungarica, Marquise and Excanto early music ensembles and a permanent guest of Mandel Quartet. She received a scholarship last year to complete her study with Nick Tzavaras of the Shanghai Quartet at the Montclair State University, here in the USA.<\/p>\n

\"T\u00f3th<\/a>P\u00e9ter T\u00f3th<\/strong> (born in Hungary) is a pianist and winner of the International Piano Competitions in Wittenberg (1997),\u00a0Bovino (1998), International Ferenc Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar (2000) and in Budapest (2001). In 1998 he\u00a0received the Liszt Academy\u2019s \u201cS\u00e1ri B\u00edr\u00f3 Memorial Award\u201d as the best young pianist of the year. P\u00e9ter T\u00f3th started his\u00a0musical studies at the B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k Music School in B\u00e9k\u00e9scsaba when he was eleven years old. At thirteen, he won a\u00a0scholarship to the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. During his studies he has had several opportunities to\u00a0gather experience on the international concert stage. Among others he has given concerts in the Concertgebouw in\u00a0Amsterdam, in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, in France, Austria, and Japan, in the Czech Republic, in\u00a0Belgium and in Germany. P\u00e9ter T\u00f3th is considered one of the most promising music talents in Hungary. In 2005 he
\nmade his debut in Munich with a solo concert. He has performed with the Hungarian Virtuoso Chamber Orchestra,\u00a0MATAV Symphony Orchestra, and with the Ferenc Liszt Chamber Orchestra. He made recordings in 2004 in Scotland\u00a0exclusively for Stockfisch Records, for whom he has recorded LATE PIANO WORKS OF LISZT. This CD recording has\u00a0won the 2006 Grand Prix International Liszt du Risqu\u00e9 Award by The Franz Liszt Society. Since that time, he has\u00a0continued his concert appearances. In 2009, he received a full scholarship for continued studies at Texas Christian\u00a0University in Fort Worth, TX (USA).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
