Krónika – The Chronicles of the Hungarian Congress
The Krónika book series represents 50 years of chronicling Hungarians living outside Hungarian borders and in emigration.
For half a century, the Hungarian Association has been publishing the Krónika in book form, including the Hungarian Congress program, texts of delivered and submitted presentations, as well as lectures by Western Hungarian scientists, writers, and artists.
This exceptionally valuable book series provides a very comprehensive picture of Hungarian life in emigration.
The Krónika was edited for 34 consecutive years until 1995 by Professor Dr. Ferenc Somogyi, then by his son Lél F. Somogyi until the series concluded with the 50th volume in 2010.
The Krónika published many photographs and articles and these were included in the book series. The books appeared in elegant red binding with gold lettering, and were generally each 288-320 pages long.
Our aim here is to make available the Hungarian Congress’s materials through the Krónika to the widest possible audience, in digital format as accessible PDFs, so that interested readers and researchers can access it worldwide, without the limitations of physical book publishing and shipping costs.
