“My War,” The pen, ink, and wash images of this graphic novel speak louder than words in relating a soldier’s experiences during World War I. There are no words, just drawings, yet István Szegedi Szüts, portrays the tragedy of wartime life and the fundamental changes it brings in human nature.

KATI KERECSENDI KISS , grew up in the Hungarian community inToronto. She completed her studies in animation art at Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology in Oakville, Ontario, thereafter working at the Canadian Film Board in Montreal and many other companies in the animation industry with credits in American Tail: Fievel Goes West and Bebe’s Kids. After returning to Cleveland, she completed her MA in Instructional Technology and TESOL at Kent State. She retired from the Cleveland Municipal School District where she had worked as an art and ESL teacher. She is happy to be currently teaching at the Cleveland Hungarian School.
