Dr. István Kovács
Biography: Dr. István Kovács is an Assistant Professor at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Physical Education and Coaching from the Hungarian University of Physical Education and received his Ph.D. in biomechanics from Eötvös University in 2001.
Before joining SRU in 2003, Dr. Kovacs spent two years teaching physical education in high school and ten years teaching in the Physical Education Teacher Education program at his alma mater.
Besides teaching Fitness, Wellness, and sport theory classes at SRU, he is head coach to a competitive youth swimming club. His main research areas are biomechanics and sport physiology.
As an athlete, Dr. Kovacs was a triple jumper for the Hungarian National Track Team. Currently he enjoys riding his bicycle, playing volleyball, tennis, and badminton.
